Post Typography Lecture Posters
Years: 2004 - 2007

Since 2004 Post Typography has been giving design lectures and presentations of our work at various universities and design organizations. When possible we create posters to promote these events. Since we were talking about ourselves and our work, it naturally followed that we would include images of ourselves on each poster. Eventually though, we got tired of our ugly mugs (unlike some designers we know) and began to branch out.

For this talk in North Carolina we typographically illustrated just a few of the ways in which we'd be boring the audience.

Harvard University 2007
This Post Typography lecture and performance occurred inside a giant, silver, inflatable structure at Le Corbusier's Carpenter Center on the Harvard campus. Echoing the venue of the event, we printed the posters on silver foil balloons.

Punk Rock vs. Swiss Modernism 2007
This talk at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design was titled "Punk Rock vs. Swiss Modernism". To bring these two movements together, we used the lecture info to alter an upside Helvetica "t". Nothing says "punk" like an upside down cross.

Beards Rule 2005
For this speaking engagement at a small liberal arts college in the mountains of Pennsylvania, we had to grow extra burly beards to stave off the harsh winter cold.

Cooper Union 2005
The Cooper Union, one of America's top design schools, is right in the center of the New York design scene. Since bigshot graphic designers are a-dime-a-dozen in New York, we had to announce that this wouldn't be another one of those boring design lectures.

This poster is the perfect visual representation of an artist talk.
