Alphabet: An Exhibition of Hand-Drawn Lettering & Experimental Typography
Client: Artscape
Year: 2005

Post Typography was asked to curate and design Alphabet for Artscape, one of the east coast's largest annual arts festivals. Taking place each summer in Baltimore, Artscape consists of a series of high-quality contemporary art exhibitions and performances, culminating in a massive three day street festival. For Alphabet, 48 artists and designers conceived and interpreted the alphabet in surprising and inventive ways, ranging from graceful and polished to witty and unconventional. The 60 alphabets featured in Alphabet were created by artists in North America, Europe, and Asia, and represent work from well-known typographers and designers as well as rising artists and design students.

Exhibition catalog (front and back cover and three inside spreads shown)
Using minimal shapes, we turned the front and back cover of the catalog into giant, semi-abstract letters. The interior spreads employ a clean, contemporary layout to showcase the work from the show.
