We conceived and designed this large trade show space for the U.S. Green Building Council. The centerpiece of the space is a monumental structure based on an origami-like folded square. The structure’s unique profile makes the USGBC booth instantly identifiable from a distance, but also forms a semi-enclosed exhibition area installed with monitors and graphics that explain USGBC’s mission. The space design is modular and flexible so that it can adapt to numerous configurations and floor plans. Inexpensive, sustainable materials were used, allowing the space to have a large visual impact with a small budget and even smaller environmental footprint. Photos: Frank L. Aymami III
